Tourism College at Hebei University of Economics and Trade was established in 2004, with a long history and rich cultural heritage. It is the only tourism college with the most complete and largest scale of tourism majors among undergraduate colleges and universities in Hebei Province. It is also the director and secretary-general unit of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Tourism Majors in Hebei Province. It has been jointly named as the "Hebei Provincial Cultural and Tourism Talent Training Base" by the Education Department, Culture and Tourism Department, and Human Resources and Social Security Department of Hebei Province. In 2021, the Tourism College's Party Committee was honored with the title "Advanced Grassroots Party Organization in Hebei Province" by the Provincial Party Committee. In 2024, the Party Branch of the Teachers of Exhibition and Marketing Management was recognized as part of the fourth batch of "National Party Building Model Branch" cultivation and creation units. The college always adheres to the work philosophy of "leading, serving, and innovating", adheres to the college motto of "dedicating oneself to learning and applying, cultivating professional ethics", and focuses on cultivating high-quality new financial and tourism talents with patriotic sentiment, professional knowledge, professional competence, information technology skills, and international perspectives.

The college currently has both Master and Undergraduate Education, as well as academic master's programs in tourism management. It has three regular undergraduate majors: Tourism Management, Exhibition Economy and Management, and Hospitality Management, as well as three corresponding undergraduate majors: Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, and Marketing. The Tourism Management major has been recognized as one of the first national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, the first batch of applied transformation demonstration majors in ordinary undergraduate universities in Hebei Province, as well as the Exhibition Economy and Management major and Hospitality Management major have been recognized as first-class undergraduate major construction sites in Hebei Province. There are currently more than 1200 graduate and undergraduate students, and outstanding students are eligible for exemption from the examination for promotion to master's degree. In 2022, all three majors—Tourism Management, Event Economy and Management, and Hospitality Management, achieved Tourism Education Quality(Ted Qual) Certification from the United Nations World Tourism Organization. The college has one key research base for humanities and social sciences in Hebei Province (Green Development Research Center of the Great Wall Cultural and Economic Belt), one academician workstation (Regional Green and Low Carbon Development Research Institute), and two non physical research centers at the university level (Tourism Innovation and Industry Integration Research Center, Industrial and Cultural Tourism Research Center). It serves as vice president unit of the Hebei Business Economics Society, a director unit of the China Tourism Association and the Hebei Tourism Association. In 2023, the college collaborated with Huazhu Group to establish the Digital Culture and Tourism Industry College.

It currently has 57 faculty members, including 41 full-time teachers. The proportion of teachers with doctoral degrees and overseas education backgrounds in the teaching staff exceeds 60%. The college has more than 10 national and provincial-level first-class courses, provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship courses, provincial-level maker training camp courses, and provincial-level ideological and political courses. It has been awarded the titles of Excellent Teaching Team in Hebei Province, Excellent Teaching Team in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Hebei Province, Course Ideological and Political Teaching Team in Hebei Province, and Excellent Grassroots Teaching Organization in Hebei Province. There are many teachers who have been awarded special allowances by the State Council, teaching masters in Hebei Province, course and ideological and political education masters in Hebei Province, "3-3" talents in Hebei Province, "Hebei Youth Star" and other talent titles, as well as experts from Hebei Provincial Cultural and Tourism Think Tank. Over the past 5 years, the college teachers have presided over and led research on 7 national and Ministry of Education level projects, more than 30 provincial-level and above vertical projects, more than 10 teaching and research projects, more than 20 large-scale horizontal projects, published more than 10 monographs, published multiple academic papers in authoritative domestic and foreign journals, and won 6 provincial awards for excellent scientific research and teaching achievements.

Tourism College focuses on enhancing students' comprehensive abilities through the integration of industry and education and practical teaching. The Tourism Training Center is a provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration center, and students lead the establishment and operation of student studios such as Zhixing Tourism Planning Studio, Starry Sky Exhibition Studio, 890 Hotel Studio, Dance Charm Studio, and Non heritage Cultural and Creative Center. It has created a series of regularly held activities such as the Hebei Province Tourism Creative Planning Competition, Golden Autumn Ginkgo Festival, Hotel Carnival, Intangible Cultural Heritage on Campus, and China Tourism Day promotion. The college has long supported students to participate in the Challenge Cup National College Student Competition, National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project, China International College Student Innovation Competition, China College Student Tourism Management Virtual Simulation Competition, Peak Hour National Business Simulation Competition, National College Business Elite Challenge, National Red Tourism Creative Planning Competition, China Creative Challenge Competition, and has achieved excellent results. In the past 5 years, students have been approved 10 national and 24 provincial innovation projects, 8 provincial bronze awards for Internet plus competitions, 2 provincial awards for Challenge Cup competitions, 11 national first prizes, 6 second prizes and 3 third prizes for discipline competitions; 2 students were awarded the National Self Strengthening Star, and 13 students were awarded the National Scholarship; 10 students were awarded the title of Provincial Three Good Students, 5 students were awarded the title of Provincial Excellent Student Cadre, 6 students were awarded the title of "Star of Hebei Youth", 1 student was awarded the title of the Most Beautiful Youth of Yan and Zhao in the New Era, 1 student was awarded the title of Provincial Excellent Communist Youth League Member, 3 teachers and students were selected as volunteers for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and the "Travel Enjoyment" Red Culture Propaganda Team was selected as the National College Student Xibaipo Spirit Volunteer Propaganda Team. The college has been awarded "exemplary organization of Student Work", "exemplary organization of Military Training for College Students", "Excellent Organization Award" of Campus Psychodrama Competition, "Excellent Organization Award" of National Defense Knowledge Competition and other honors year after year.

The college implemented the "All staff Linkage and Precise Assistance" college student career vision guidance action plan, implemented the school enterprise political consultative conference co-education model, continuously obtained the Ministry of Education's supply and demand docking education project, established stable cooperation mechanisms with relevant government departments, international high-end enterprise groups, large cultural and tourism enterprises, and scientific research institutions, and built employment channels. The employment rate of the college has remained above 90% in the past five years, and it has been awarded the title of "Advanced Collective in Employment Work" for consecutive years. The "Travel Enjoyment Social Service Team" of the college has been rooted in the Great Wall and the Taihang Mountains for a long time, conducting social practice research, and opening the classroom in the field. Students go to the field, enter enterprises, communities, etc., inherit excellent traditional Chinese culture, and contribute wisdom and suggestions for the coordinated development of tourism in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, the construction of Xiong'an New Area, the rural revitalization and green development along the Taihang Mountains and the Great Wall, with a good social reputation.
